Fishies!

I put Skully on the back burner because I'm almost finished and have a stressful couple of days-- today I will more than likely finish him at my in-laws, meaning Tuesday I should try to leave work early to hot foot it over to Crazy Old Faye's and get some wool, maybe I can throw together Yorick before hubby's b-day. In the meantime, I have made several of the tessellating fish (the pattern for this is no longer available, so I provided it under the cut). CO 6

I have decided that this summer I will officially bust my stash by taking all of my acrylic yarns-- the Red Heart Super saver, etc. up to Maine and use only this large stash to make many, many fish, then graft into an afghan for the cabin. If it takes 6 summers to do, well, then, it takes 6 summers to do. I will have only 1 project for summer, plus fish. So if I finish my project early, it's a fish-knittin' summer for yours truly. I will be allowed to ADD to my stash from the many lovely LYS's up there but NO FISH out of good stuff unless it's scrap! So come summer, my  bamboo baskets will be looking a little lonely.

Also, I got my e-bay lot of

and, while it's not ArtFibers, it certainly is nice.I am making a project for ME from it. More than likely this or this. Thoughts? My only concern is that the sari yarn is not very stretchy; however, I've read in the knitting communities that Tubey ends up bigger than you expect and isn't as form fitting as the pattern would have you believe.
In any case: it's not not time for knit stew, but time for actual breakfast, so......hopefully tonight I'll have a finished but yet unseamed picture of Skully to boast!!!

have you tried Debbie Stoller's Stitch & Bitch? It simplifies it. Or just get someone to physically show you. Casting on made me want to die at first, but it gets easier.
=)
we should get together sometime, I'll totally show you-- and you'll become obsessed.

Hi, Do you mind if I post this pattern on my blog as well? It's one folks seem to want and it's been hard to find. Here's my blog. http://360.yahoo.com/tilla2

Thanks for the answer, Iris Jones tilla2@yahoo.com

Thanks so much for the tesselating fish pattern! I looked everywhere for it, couldn't find it, then another blogger (Rain) directed me here...I now have fish! Thanks a bunch! - Aurora

Is there a photo of a finished fish afghan anywhere?

posting violates copyright

Hi

I'm not really anonymous I'm kabira501@yahoo.com

Even if a pattern is out of print - unless it is 50 years past the death of the designer it is a violation of the designer's copyright to post the pattern on the internet, photocopy it or otherwise distribute it without permission of the designer. The law has nothing to do with whether you are making money from the distribution or not.

Out of respect for all knitting designers, please remove your post.

Thanks.
